They have succeeded and mother and child were evacuated to Kramatorsk, a town nearby. Little Polinka learned to breathe on her own. Just the day she got disconnected from the respiratory support Kramatorsk got struck under attack&#8230; that was still in the year 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The family returned to Slaviansk. Polina began to rehabilitate which brought her great success. She is 8 years old now and she can walk already with a little bit of support. She&#8217;s a smart positive girl, she likes sport. In 2021, her little brother was born. And in 2022, when his brother was 5 months old, the new war began&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For a long time, the family stayed home. They were afraid of sirens, cold cellars, nights without a moment of sleep&#8230; It wasn&#8217;t until once a bomb went off next to their house. The house was shaking as if it were about to fall apart. And that&#8217;s when the mother understood: if she doesn&#8217;t leave now, she just goes crazy&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It took 34 hours to travel to the borders of Slovakia. There they spent another 30 hours until accommodation was found for the family. &#8220;A great tribute to all the good-hearted people who are helping Ukrainian families on the run. Thanks to you, we are safe!&#8221; says mother Svetlana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Polinka needs to continue her rehabilitation, which gives her the opportunity to move closer to a dignified future.<\/strong> Rehabilitation helps a child with cerebral palsy to improve the body&#8217;s abilities. Unfortunately, rehabilitation is not financially available to them. That is why we are appealing to all those willing to help.
