There was less and less time left for work. I understood that from now on it was my job to ensure the quality of my son&#8217;s life,&#8221; &#8211; says mother, Svetlana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So as Mikhail\u00b4s walking went from weak to not more possible, his mother \u201cbecame\u201d to be his feet. Now as his hands are weak, she means to be his hands for him. In return, he is being her head \u2013 positive, bright, in which interesting and bright ideas still arise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In all the years of living with this insidious diagnosis, they have had a lot to experience and still a lot ahead of them. Mikhail needs various aids and, above all, intensive rehabilitation, so that his health lasts as long possible. Very recently, Mikhail&#8217;s been struggling to breathe in his sleep and will soon need the breathing equipment \u2013 nocturnal nasal ventilation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I want my most important life &#8220;project&#8221; to be here with me for as long as possible,&#8221; Svetlana says, smiling with a smile radiating peace, certainty, and inner female strength. That&#8217;s exactly what Mikhail needs \u2013 peace and security. He&#8217;s still smiling and positive, noticing the pain of a fading body. He can set an example to those who get angry about little things.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In April of 2022, with the incredible efforts of volunteers, Svetlana and Mikhail came from Ukraine to Slovakia. Misha underwent 2 rehabilitation courses in ADELI Medical Center. His physical and psychological condition has improved.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u201cI believe in God and I still remain aware of reality. I also believe that there is a tiny little piece of God in every human being and believe in the power people have. He was growing without any problems and there was no indication that he might have any health problems. It wasn&#8217;t until once, at the age of 3, that he got scared of the thunder and stuttered. The neurologist sent us for an examination and Mikhail was unexpectedly diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. &#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness due to the alterations of a protein called dystrophin that helps keep muscle cells intact. It&#8217;s an incurable diagnosis. Gradually, all the muscles of the body weaken and so the patient stops walking, the spine curves, gradually both the heart muscle and the respiratory muscles weaken too.
